Stephen Dempsey is the President & CEO of the Greater Halifax Partnership, the economic growth organization for Greater Halifax. The Partnership is a public-private organization and is among the most innovative economic development organizations in North America. Its primary mandate is to help, keep and grow business in Halifax, while attracting new investment to the area by working with private-sector investors and all three levels of government to drive the area's economic growth.

Stephen, a national and international public speaker on the subject of economic development and partnerships, was named one of the top 50 CEO's in Atlantic Canada. A native of Greater Halifax, Stephen received his education at Saint Mary's University and the University of Ottawa.

His vision and passion for his community and his commitment to the economic prosperity of the city comes from his firm belief that Halifax is a modern, historic city and has unique economic and cultural attributes that make it an outstanding place to live and work.
