Sharon M. Reishus
Commissioner, Maine Public Utilities Commission

Sharon Reishus was sworn in as Commissioner for the Maine Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) in July 2003. This was a return to the MPUC, having served as a Staff Analyst from 1991-1998. In that capacity, she advised Commissioners on financial and economic matters, provided expert testimony in electric utility cases, and wrote portions of briefs and internal white papers on policy issues.
Since 1998, Reishus had been employed as Director for North American Power at Cambridge Energy Research Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts, directing and presenting research on U.S. and Canadian power issues, providing consultative services to clients, and writing extensively on energy policy.
Prior to joining the MPUC in 1991, Reishus worked as a planner for Central Maine Power Company, as a Senior Duty Officer for the White House Situation Room at the National Security Council, and as an Intelligence Officer for the CIA.
Reishus holds an MBA Degree in Strategic Planning from The Wharton School in Philadelphia (1990), and a BSc in Applied Earth Sciences from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California (1984).
